Cookie and browser storage notice
Last updated: 31 July 2026
This notice explains the browser storage used by the North Route Systems website and how the Nelly session preference works.
Nelly session storage
Storage key: nr_nelly_hidden_session
Purpose: remembers that you chose to hide Nelly during the current browser-tab session.
Value stored: the number 1. It does not contain your name, email address, enquiry details or browsing history.
Duration: the current browser-tab session. Nelly is available again on a later visit.
When it is stored
The session value is created only when you select the control to hide Nelly for the current visit. Minimising the panel does not store the preference.
Previous Nelly cookie
The refreshed Nelly interface no longer creates or uses the former nr_nelly_dismissed preference cookie. The website removes that legacy preference when Nelly loads.
Changing the preference
Select Show Nelly in the website footer to make the guide available again during the current visit. Closing the tab or ending the browser session also clears the session preference.
Enquiry information
Details entered into the Nelly enquiry form are not placed in the session preference. They are submitted only when you choose to send the enquiry.
Future cookies
If North Route adds non-essential analytics or advertising cookies in the future, the website will provide the relevant information and choices before those cookies are loaded.
